‘Twas the week before summer break…

and the teachers were frazzled. The lessons plans looked done, but seriously, what did it matter?

Books we might read this week:

The Pout-Pout Fish

Swimmy

A House for Hermit Crab

I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean!

I’m a Shark!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell

Ms. Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten

Activities/lessons we might do:

Sentence building

Unscrambling sight words

Write-the-room

Summer goals flip-book

Variety of summer-themed glyphs

How-to writing (How to Eat a Popsicle)

“This Year Was Sweet!” pineapple writing

Count-the-room

Types of coin flip-book

Telling time by the hour

Making words from vocab in one of the books listed above

Retelling strip

Sea creature hundreds charts

I have all of this ordered and organized in my plan book. I even have the standards in place (or “eligible content”, whatever your state is calling the standards this year). I did forego the objectives though…

But for real, what we do each day is largely at the mercy of the day, because it’s the week before summer break. Fingers crossed it flies by!
