When we woke up on the first full day of our the trip, we were still a little tired, but made our way across the street from our Airbnb to a little bakery. It was so lovely, they had mismatched plates and cups, and full of a small town chit-chat vibe. As we paid before we left, the owner asked about our plans and then told us about some places a bit further north that were worth the drive. We had planned to head directly south, but on his recommendations we decided to carpe diem and check out the destinations he suggested. Following the first whim of the trip was the best thing we could’ve done, because it landed us at the Lake Quinault Lodge, Ruby Beach, and the Olympic National Park area in general. It was amazingly beautiful and peaceful, I have daydreams about going back and spending a week just there!
Lake Quinault Lodge (apparently Franklin Roosevelt was a fan)
